Westlake Chemical Announces Start-Up of Geismar VCM and PVC Operations

HOUSTON, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Westlake Chemical Corporation (NYSE: WLK) announced today that in late December 2004 it successfully started up its vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) facilities in Geismar, Louisiana. As previously announced this phased start-up will result in approximately 300 million pounds of PVC production per annum.
