Axiall Appoints George Biltz Chief Strategy OfficerATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2013-- Axiall Corporation (NYSE: AXLL) today announced that George Biltz has joined the company as chief strategy officer, effective immediately, as part of the company’s ongoing effort to deliver on its growth priorities. In this newly created senior leadership position, Biltz will assume the lead role in the identification, assessment, analysis and negotiations of strategic opportunities to support the company’s growth goals. “George brings broad and deep expertise in the chemicals industry, as well as a nice blend of strategic merger-and-acquisition and business leadership experience, to this important new role at Axiall,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Carrico. “This is an important senior leadership role at Axiall, which is expected to drive consistent strategy and visioning, focus on key strategic initiatives and fuel business development and M&A activities,” Carrico said. “The depth and breadth of George’s strategic and operational experiences, coupled with his leadership roles, make George ideally suited for this role.” Prior to joining Axiall, Biltz served on the senior leadership team of The Dow Chemical Company, most recently leading its utility and energy business. Biltz holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Detroit and an MBA from Central Michigan University.
