At Westlake, we recognize the importance of supporting the communities in which we work and live and make it a priority to take an active role in making these communities better.

Westlake Global Service Month

Westlake has always recognized the importance of supporting the communities in which we work and live.  For the past five years, Westlake sites have come together to devote a month in the year to make a positive impact in their communities worldwide.  Westlake Global Service Month is an annual global month of service where employees, along with their friends and family, volunteer with a local non-profit organization.

During Westlake's last service month, approximately 3,000 employees and families signed-up for activities worldwide.

Westlake Scholarship

Since 1994, Westlake has been pleased to recognize and reward high-achieving college-bound students of its employees with scholarships. This annual award of scholarships continues Westlake's on-going support of the higher education endeavors for high school age students. Scholarships are generally renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study provided the student maintains specific high academic standards.

Educational Efforts

Westlake partners in Education, University Endowments, Scholarships, Junior Achievement and is a supporter of various other educational initiatives.

In Louisiana we are one of the highest per-capita contributors to the United Way. These operations also support the Adopt-A-Family toy and food drive, the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, as well as various college scholarship funds and volunteer fire departments.

In Kentucky, Westlake ranks among the top company contributors to the Calvert City United Fund Program, the Marshall County Relay for Life, and the McCracken County March of Dimes Walk America. The company has launched a program to help provide Automatic External Defibrillators to area schools, which has already saved the life of a man at Murray State University. Westlake also makes donations to the Four Rivers Performing Arts Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

Our corporate commitment is augmented by the dedication and generosity of our employees. They regularly teach Junior Achievement at inner-city schools, they have adopted two schools in need, they provided mentoring to at-risk elementary school children, and they have volunteered their time as Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
